MSNBC is reporting that a suicide bomber has blown himself up at an entrance to the U.S. Embassy compound in Ankara.
Authorities say at least three people were killed in the Friday morning blast.
Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler said the attacker may have been a member of the militant Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front or another leftist group.
Meanwhile, State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said, "U.S. officials were working closely with the Turkish national police to make a full assessment of the damage and the casualties, and to begin an investigation."
