Local fire department teaches fire safety

By: Nikki Henderson
Updated: January 31, 2013

The Bossier City Fire Department wants to make sure you know what to do if a fire breaks out.

The agency is reaching out to home schooled children and their parents to teach them life saving lessons.

Families will learn how to call 9-1-1 and about fire escape plans.  They will also get information on smoke detectors and stop, drop and roll.

The fire safety program will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Bossier Central Library on 2206 Beckett Street.

The program is similar to the one taught in Bossier Parish schools annually.
