Susan's Closet, an annual fund raising event for the Northwest Louisiana affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is set to kick off their annual formal dress sale on Saturday.

Lindsey Dean, the Executive Director for Susan G. Komen in Shreveport, stopped by NBC 6 News Today to talk about Saturday's event, which is being held at the First Baptist Church gymnasium in Shreveport, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The church is located at 543 Ockley Drive.

According to Dean, the event aims to outfit high-school and college age girls with beautiful and current pre-owned formal dresses for their many special occasions like homecoming, pageants, and prom.

Dean says 1,000 dresses have been donated by residents in the ArkLaTex and the dresses will be sold for $25 each, regardless of the original purchase price.

A three dress maximum is in place per girl and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Northwest Louisiana affiliate of Susan G. Komen of the Cure.
