Update: MLK parade rolls out this weekend

The Martin Luther King, Jr. parade is set to kick off in North Shreveport.

The parade which was cancelled a couple of weeks ago due to rain will now roll out on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The MLK Community Development Corporation will hold the event to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Chief Judge Carl E. Stewart of the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will serve as Grand Marshall.

Area drill teams and bands are also expected to participate in the event.

The parade will start on Russell Road, proceed down MLK Dr. and end at the Southern University parking lot.
