School safety and saving money. Those were some of the topics discussed during a luncheon with Caddo Parish School Board
Members and state lawmakers.
During a legislative luncheon at the Hilton in downtown Shreveport, Superintendent Dr. Gerald Dawkins updated everyone on pressing issues for Caddo schools.
Two are budget development and saving money.
School
board president Larry Ramsey says this is a good time for lawmakers to hear
about what schools need most.
"Hopefully we'll have... at least
give them a better education on how some of the things they do in Baton Rouge
impact us in Caddo and all other school districts across the state," says Ramsey.
School
safety was also up for discussion. School
board member Dottie Bell pushed for all students across the parish to have
ID badges.
She also said cost should not be an issue.
