Local motel fire under investigation

An afternoon blaze causes heavy damage to a Bossier City motel.

The fire broke out shortly after 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Siesta Motel in the 2500 block of East Texas Street.

It took firefighters 10 minutes to get the blaze under control.  

Investigators say the room where the fire originated has heavy smoke damage.

No one was staying in the room at the time of the blaze and there were no reports of any injuries.
