Late Wednesday afternoon, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a CHMS student reported that a fellow student revealed a hand gun in the boys' restroom. Assistant Principal Carol Miller quickly contacted the on-campus resource officer and located the student. The student was questioned and searched. An unloaded small caliber handgun was located; no bullets were in the student's possession. Upon further questioning, the student indicated that the gun was brought to school to show a fellow classmate. No one was injured during this incident. The quick response of the staff of CHMS is an indication of the heightened awareness of safety procedures and their determination to provide a safe environment for students and staff on their campus.

School safety is of the utmost importance to us and will continue to be the highest priority at College Hill Middle School and throughout the Texarkana Arkansas School District.
