A man and woman accused of burglarizing a home in south Shreveport are behind bars.

Police have arrested Whakila Dixon, 20, and Leon Stevenson, 24, in connection with a home burglary in the 8700 block of South Emerald Loop.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Monday a man caught Stevenson kicking in the carport door of his home.  Once the homeowner went outside to investigate, the suspect fled the residence and jumped into a getaway car driven by Dixon.

The victim was able to give authorities a detailed description of the car and the next day police spotted the vehicle and arrested Dixon during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday Stevenson was taken into custody after police found him at a home in the 6300 block of Tulsa Avenue.

Both Dixon and Stevenson have been charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
