$50,000 Louisiana Film Prize up for grabs again

By: Jacque Jovic
Updated: January 9, 2013
The second annual Louisiana Film Prize kicked off Wednesday, January 9.

The $50,000 grand prize is the biggest prize awarded in a short film competition.

Filmmakers from across the country are invited to participate.

The catch is you must produce your film in the Shreveport area.

Organizers say last year's competition poured nearly $3 million dollars into the local economy and they expect even more this year.

"We're expecting a lot more national attention, a lot more filmmakers coming from outside the area.  We love our local filmmakers but we love bringing people in and showing what we have in Shreveport too," said Chris Lyon, Louisiana Film Prize Festival Director.
