If you're ready for beads, king cakes and parades, Mardi Gras festivities will soon kick off in the Ark-la-tex.
The season's first parade rolls out in a few weeks. The Krewe of Sobek will celebrate "All Things Grande".
The parade will start at 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 19 at the fairgrounds and go through the Queensborough neighborhood.
The Krewe of Harambee parade celebrates Mardi Gras and Martin Luther King Jr.
Organizers say this year's parade theme is "Coming to America, Two" and will feature high school and college bands, dance teams and other local organizations.
Kick off will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21. The parade route starts at the municipal auditorium and will flow through downtown Shreveport.
Meanwhile, Texarkana will also celebrate Mardi Gras this year with live music and street dancing. The first Mardi Gras on Front Street will roll at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
