Are you ready for bead-catching season? Because it's finally here.
The 2013 Mardi Gras season kicks off Saturday in the ArkLaTex with the annual Twelfth Night party. Hosted by the Krewes of Centaur and Gemini, the party begins at 6:30 P.M. at the Bossier Civic Center.
The public is welcome to come out and help celebrate another fun season of parades, parties and beads.
"It's the start of Mardi Gras season which is 12 days after Christmas. It's a gathering of all 15 krewes in ArkLaTex... We have a high energy band - the Chee Weez out of New Orleans," said King Brian Hammons, Krewe of Centaur.
Tickets are being sold at the door for $40.00, open bar included.
"All of the royalty of from all 15 krewes will be presented tomorrow night. Kind of informal presentation of royalty - kings, queens, captains, dukes, duchesses," said Hammons.
