Authorities are investigating a one vehicle accident that seriously injured two people in Claiborne Parish.

Police believe Jodie Brazzel of Athens was driving south on US Highway 79 when his 2004 Nissan Frontier left the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned.

Brazzel was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The passenger, Barry Adkins of Minden, was not wearing his seat belt and was trapped in the vehicle.

Both Brazzel and Adkins were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities believe driver impairment may have played a role in the crash.
