It's a new year, and many people have a plan to get back in shape.
Local gyms are seeing more folks choosing to head back to the gym, and memberships go up this time of year. However, crowds can keep some people from actually working out.
Fitness World Group Fitness Coordinator, Tina McKay, says the time of day you work-out can help you beat the crowds.
"I recommend coming in real early in the morning if you're a morning person or come at midday - lunch time - anywhere until 3 o clock. Around 3:00 kids get out of school so we get all our school teachers in. Kids fill up Kids World," said McKay.
The first step is making sure your healthy enough to start muscle toning. If cleared by a doctor, men need to add more leg work-outs to their routine and women need to build their upper body strength.
