Bossier Deputy Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Derrick Jones, 34, of Bossier City died after his cycle ran into a car driven by Ryan Johnson, 18, of Shreveport. Jones was off-duty and riding his own motorcyle.
Jones was a deputy with the Bossier Parish Sheriff`s Office. He had been with that agency for about three years and worked in the Corrections Department.
"Derrick Jones was an outstanding officer and will be sorely missed," said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen. "Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
Johnson was not found to be drinking at the time of the accident. No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
