The Willow Lake Adult Community is trying to brighten the holidays for needy families.
Friday residents presented an $800 check to the Bossier Sheriff's Office food bank program Operation Blessing.
The program was started by the law enforcement agency in 1998 to help elderly and handicapped residents in Bossier Parish.
It operates without tax dollars and is funded by donations by individuals and area businesses.
This week nearly 500 Christmas food boxes were delivered to Bossier families as a part of Operation Blessing.
