I-49 northbound closed due to fatal wreck in DeSoto Parish

The northbound lanes of I-49 south of Highway 175 are closed Friday morning due to fatal wreck.
The Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office tells NBC 6 that one 18-wheelers and two pick-up trucks collided. Law enforcement crews are on the scene investigating the accident.
One person was declared deceased at the scene, but authorities are not releasing the identity pending notification of next of kin.
According to Trooper Matt Harris with the LA State Police, Troop G, the 18-wheeler was stopped on the side of the road. One of the pick-ups slammed into the back of it at a high rate of speed. The second truck, then, hit that truck.
Harris says impairment does seem to be a factor in the crash.
Traffic is backed up on I-49 since there are few detours around that part of I-49.
