A school in Marshall, Texas is getting a security makeover.

A 28-camera security system will be installed at Marshall Junior High School over the Christmas holiday break.

The cameras will be installed by KLC Video Security of Texarkana and placed at key locations within the three-story building as well as outside the building.

Dr. Marc Smith, MISD Superintendent says "There is nothing more important to us the than the safety and security of our students".  "We will continue to review our plan and look for ways to improve our campus safety in order to ensure the most effective educational experience possible that we can provide for our students."

The new camera system is expected to be up and running by the time students return for class on Jan. 14.
