A forensic team from Baton Rouge says the remains found in downtown Shreveport could be that of a man.

Wednesday members of the LSU FACES Lab conducted a preliminary assessment to help identify the remains.

The bones were found shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday while DOTD crews were inspecting the I-20 Bridge.

Mary Manhein, Director of LSU FACES says the remains will be taken back to Baton Rouge for analysis to help determine the time of death and whether there's any trauma.

It could take at least two weeks for results to come back.
