During a visit to Bossier Parish Monday, Louisiana Superintendent of Education John White addressed the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.

He was in town for an unrelated check presentation at Benton Middle School.  The superintendent expressed his condolences for the families in Connecticut.

Superintendent White addressed security concerns for public schools across the state.  He says there's no perfect answer when it comes to a situation like what happened in Newtown.

White says the Louisiana Department of Education will make sure teachers and principals have all the tools they need to protect students.
