Disabled parking abuse is the number one issue facing disabled people living in Louisiana, and it gets worse every year.
"It's frustrating because it is abuse but most people don't see it like that. It's a treat to our health and safety," Mack Marsh said.
The disability community has a solution, and there's an app for that.
Parking Mobility is a free app. When you see a violation, take three pictures and the app takes care of the rest. It collects the data and sends it to police, form there citations can be issued.
In 2012 volunteers using the program in Shreveport used the app, found 1,400 enforceable violations, and at least $232,000 that the city was missing out on.
Problem is, these pictures can't go anywhere...yet.
"At this point we're really looking at city leaders to make a decision about moving forward with our program," Marsh said.
