Christmas yarn bomb causes colorful explosion in Natchitoches

Updated: December 13, 2012

Northwestern State University art students are spreading Christmas cheer in a colorful way.

The Intro to Fibers class recently installed a yarn bomb in Natchitoches's Tricentennial Park.

Yarn bombing is a type of street art intended to personalize public spaces and draw interest to knitting and crochet.

The students had to get permission from Natchitoches Mayor Lee Posey to temporarily put up the display.

You can view the art work in the park through Jan. 14.
