MAGNOLIA, Ark. (Courtesy SAU)- Southern Arkansas baseball coach Steve Browning has announced nine signees that inked with the Muleriders in the fall signing period.  The class includes six transfers and three members from the high school ranks.

Transferring in to SAU are third baseman/right-handed pitcher Preston Gray (Heflin, La.), right-handed pitcher/first baseman Cole Hesson (Bossier City, La.) and shortstop Josh Rodriguez (Sibley, La.), all out of Bossier Parish (La.) Community College; right-handed pitcher Jared Fielden (Gilmer, Texas) and second baseman Chase Harvey (Paris, Texas) from Paris (Texas) Junior College; and second baseman Rodrique Lewis (Grand Prairie, Texas) out of Arkansas Baptist College.

High school signees include infielder/right-handed pitcher Tyler Bowden (Muskogee, Okla.) and infielders Cole Connelley (Monticello) and Trevor Rucker (Prescott).

"Our main goal for the fall signing class was to go out and find the best players we could with an emphasis on pitching and infielders," stated Browning.  "Coach (Justin) Pettigrew and Coach (Adam) Anderson did a great job this fall hitting the road and finding us some very outstanding players."

"Out of the nine guys we signed, eight of them can play the infield as either their primary or secondary position, and four of them are pitchers that will have a chance to come in next year and make an immediate impact on our pitching staff," added Browning.  "We're very excited about the class and feel that not only are they outstanding players, but they possess the character traits that we're looking for here at Southern Arkansas."
