Despite being homeless, people living at the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission look to have a very, merry Christmas.

More than a thousand Christmas gifts have been donated by the public. About a dozen volunteers from Querbes and Nelson Insurance Firm helped sort the gifts Monday.

They will be distributed Tuesday during the Mission's annual Christmas Party.

The Mission credits social media for this year's successful Mission Tree. The non-profit posted the needed gifts on its Facebook page and the public responded very quickly.
