Vicious Dogs Still A Concern

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Vicious dogs have been a problem for Caddo Animal Control for years. But officials have been working to change that with a newly amended Vicious Dog Ordinance that was adopted last year. Pit bulls and other dogs fill the shelter, most of them have been taken from their owners. Doctor Michael Dale says the public has helped curb the problem, by reporting the dangerous animals. "It is getting better but not to where you can see it a great deal, we haven`t really attacked alot of this yet but we are working on some of the little things before we get to the big things." Each year more than 9,000 animals are euthanized. Dale says nearly half of those are pit bulls and vicious dogs.
