State police on the lookout for drunk drivers in Bossier Parish

By: Nikki Henderson
Updated: December 6, 2012

A DWI checkpoint is being setup in Bossier Parish to catch impaired drivers.

Friday Louisiana State Police Troop G will be keeping an eye out for drunk drivers between 10:30 pm to 12:00 am in an undisclosed location.

The goal is to remove drivers who have been drinking from the road before they hurt or kill themselves or someone else.

Last year, Troop G investigated 25 deadly crashes, nearly half of those involved impaired drivers.

State police are asking you to remember to designate a sober driver before traveling to any place where alcohol will be consumed.

You can report impaired drivers by dialing *LSP (*577) from your cell phone or by contacting your local law enforcement agency.
