You will soon be able to find out if you are at high risk for certain medical conditions.

Later this month Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation will sponsor free diabetes and blood pressure screenings.

These two illnesses are major killers in the African American community and can lead to heart disease, kidney failure and stroke.

The screenings will take place between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 21 at the Bilberry Park Community Center on 1902 Alabama Street.

The event is free and refreshments will be served.

For more information you can call 318-673-5345.
