Children in Texarkana are getting excited about the annual Cops and Kids meal.

The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Pizza Inn on 5200 North State Line Avenue.

Officers with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will meet at the station and form two convoys. One group will travel to The Texarkana Baptist Orphanage and the other to The Watersprings Ranch.

At least 60 children will get a chance to ride in a patrol car with lights and sirens to Pizza Inn.

The annual Cops and Kids program reinforces the positive aspects of community and police relationships.
