Shreveport Fire Chief Ronald Craig Mulford stopped by NBC 6 News Today to discuss the impact that would be felt by his department if a sales tax is not renewed by voters on December 8th.

The tax renewal is the only ballot issue facing Shreveport residents when they head to the polls on Saturday.

The one-quarter of one-percent sales tax generates over $5 million annually for Chief Mulford's department.

According to Chief Mulford, $.25 of every $100 spent on retail items goes toward helping fund both his department and the Shreveport Police Department.
