Wednesday Texarkana Arkansas School District superintendent Russell Sapaugh announced his decision to retire from his position.
Sapaugh, who became superintendent in March 2008, will be leaving at the end of the school year. Sapaugh says it is time to shift his focus on other things that he loves to do.
Members of the TASD Board of Directors say they would love for Sapaugh to stay but they respect his decision.
Sapaugh graduated from Arkansas High School and served the district in various positions for more than 30 years.
