Suspicious Death Under Investigation

Shreveport Police are investigating a suspicious death. They were called to the Cherokee Park neighborhood in North Shreveport just after two friday afternoon. A postal carrier delivering mail in the area called police when he noticed a foul smell at the residence in the 400 block of Mayfair. He told police the person who lived there hadn`t picked up his mail in days. When police arrived at the scene they found the badly decomposed body of an elderly man. Police say because of the condition of the body, the death is being investigated as a homicide. No other information is being released at this time.
