Shreveport Community Church is preparing its 25th "Songs of the Season" production.

On Sunday, the cast held a technical rehearsal. The show opens to the public Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. It's a two and a half hours long and features Christmas songs from across the Americas.

"It's a compilation of many songs that cover one end of America to the other, just all different types of genres and it presents the life of Christ from birth all the way un to his crucifixtion and resurrection," said Assistant Director Jan Reedy.

This is the first time the church has hosted the production in four years. There will also be a matinee and evening show Dec. 1 and 2. The production's cast are all volunteers and all the proceeds benefit local charities
