Ringgold citizens crowded a small room all in hopes to hear what options are on the table for the town's police department.

The mayor, Stephone Taylor, says the budget is too tight.

Several choices can be made by city council and Taylor including allowing the Bienville Parish Sheriff Office to take voer.

"My lowest paid deputy makes as much as the Chief of Police, if that gives you an idea," Bienville Sheriff John Balance said.

Previously the mayor said that eliminating the police force it could save $100,000 a year.

While nothing is final, from here the matter rests with city council.
