A popular attraction of the Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air Show flew in today.
The Blue Angels
touched down at Barksdale Air Force Base around 1:30 p.m.
The Blue Angels work as the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration
squadron. The two pilots that flew in are here making preliminary plans for
the air show.
"The
number one thing is we're going to demonstrate is the precision
techniques that are taught to every naval aviator as well as, you know,
the ground troops, the maintainers," says Lt. Ryan Chamberlain.
"So you're going to see them launch our
jets, a great ground show that's about 5-10 minutes long of manning up
the jets and making sure that they're all
ready to go. And uh, that's all a part of it."
The air show is in May. It will honor the 80th
anniversary of Barksdale Field, along with the 50th anniversary of the 2nd Bomb Wing.
