Updated: November 16, 2012

Bossier City Fire Department personnel responded to a house fire in the 2100 block of Clovis Street at approximately 4:15pm today.

No one was at home at the time.

Neighbors tell fire personnel they saw smoke coming from the home and called 911 before grabbing a garden hose and spraying water through a side window in an attempt to put the fire out.

The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, which was found smouldering when the first unit arrived on the scene within 3 minutes from being dispatched.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
