Jindal rejects Romney's explanation of loss to Obama

According to the Huffington Post, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal rebuffed Mitt Romney's claim that President Obama won reelection because of "gifts" to minorities and young voters, calling the statement "wrong."

"That is absolutely wrong... I absolutely reject that notion," Jindal said at Wednesday's session of the annual Republican Governors Association meeting in Las Vegas.

Jindal said Romney's remarks don't reflect the Republican Party or where it's headed. Echoing remarks made to Politico.com Monday, Jindal reportedly said if the Republican Party is to remain competitive, its policies need to benefit "every American who wants to pursue the American Dream." He added that the GOP should fight for 100 percent of the vote.

In a Wednesday conference call, the New York Times reported Romney claimed Obama won because he forgave college loan interest, gave free contraceptives to women, and allowed people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents' health insurance policies.

In addition, the Times said Romney also claimed "free health care" influenced Hispanic and African-American voters, who overwhelmingly supported the president in last week's election.

Although Jindal actively campaigned for Romney during the general election, telling the Huffington Post Romney did little to inspire voters on his plan for the country.
