Kentucky man arrested for convenience store robbery

A Kentucky man is in the Bi-State Jail in Texarkana, charged with the armed robbery of EZ Mart convenience store at 711 Hickory Street in Texarkana, Ark.
Texarkana Arkansas police arrested Gregory Gutowski, 40, of Ashland, Kentucky, was arrested Tuesday and transported to the Bi-State jail.
Texarkana police responded to a call at EZ Mart at 10 p.m. Monday in reference to an armed robbery call.
When officers arrived they located an employee of the business, who reported that he had been robbed by an unknown white male. The employee said the suspect entered the business and demanded cash from the register while acting as if he had a weapon in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash the suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Detective John Cochran arrived on scene and continued the investigation. Det. Cochran and other TAPD Detectives worked diligently to identify the suspect which subsequently led them to Gutowski.
Within 24 hours of the robbery, detectives were able to locate and arrest Gutowski, who was transported to the Bi-State jail and charged with robbery.
