By: Nancy Cook
Updated: November 13, 2012

The City of Shreveport is taking another swipe at blight Wednesday with another neighborhood sweep conducted by the Department of Property Standards.

This sweep is the fourth for 2012 and will focus on Council District G, represented by Councilman Sam Jenkins. The T-BONE team will meet at 8 a.m. at Bilberry Park, 1902 Alabama Ave.

There will be two dumpsters at Bilberry Park for residents to discard tires, trash and other debris. The dumpsters are only for residential users. The sweep will cover: (1) Lakeshore Drive to Greenwood Road and Jewella Avenue to Hearne Avenue; and (2) Milam Street to Lakeshore and Hearne to Jewella.

Additionally, Property Standards will pick up discarded tires at any location in District G tomorrow only. Residents requesting this service can call (318) 673-6202 to provide the location of such tires.
