Firefighters will serve as mentors for local youth

Area youth will get a chance to take a ride along with local fire fighters.  The Shreveport Fire Department is partnering with the Boy Scouts of America.

   

A news conference was held Monday morning to announce the start of the Fire and Emergency Explorer program.  It's a career development and mentoring program for young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20.

 

An orientation program will be held Monday at 6p.m. at the Fire Training Academy on Greenwood Road.  Anyone interested in being a recruit is encourage to attend the meeting.
