Caddo Parish Commissioners passed an ordinance that makes it a crime for pant lines below your waist to show any skin or underwear.
It passed by a vote of 11-1.
Commissioner Matthew Linn was the 1. While he is not an advocate of sagging pants, he notes obscenity laws are already in place statewide.
"We don't need to be fooling ourselves. This law was passed specifically to target young African Americans," Linn said.
The fines are: $100 for your first offense and $150 for a second.
The City of Shreveport has kept a similar law for several years.
"My understanding is that no body has ever been prosecuted in the previous two years that the sagging pants law has been in effect," Linn added.
