Commission passes stringent anti-smoking ordinance

In a split vote this afternoon, the Caddo Parish Commission approved a stringent no-smoking ordinance that will designate one area for smokers and prohibit lighting up anywhere else.
Prior to today's ordinance, smoking was prohibited within 25 feet of a government-operated building.
Now a new spot near the fountain on the northeast grounds of the building will become the new designated smoking area.
