Suspect arrested in September assault of college student

The suspect in the Sept. 23 aggravated assault of a Wiley College Student has been arrested.
On Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 24), Kevin DeWayne Whaley, 32, was taken into custody by the Longview Police Department. He is currently being held in the Gregg County Jail on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault out of the Marshall Police Department.
Whaley was wanted in connection with the aggravated assault that occurred at 711 Wiley Ave. in Marshall.
He will go in front of a judge for an arraignment hearing and transfer to the Harrison County Jail.
