The Bossier Parish School System went from "C" to "B". The number of individual campuses earning an "A" doubled. Caddo went from a failing grade to a "C".
Desoto Parish Schools experienced the largest gains in the state. The school system's score increased nearly 16 points. That earned the district a B. Webster Parish also saw gains with a "C" score.
All scores are based on student performance. This is the second year performance scores and letter grades have been released. State education officials say the scoring was changed to a more simplified system. The scores are calculated from test scores, attendance along with graduation rates for high school students.
