Texarkana, Texas police catch copper theft suspects red-handed

Two Texarkana Texas, men on Monday learned it's not really all that smart to rob your neighbors.

Around 1 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2012, the Texarkana, Texas Police Department responded to a call of a theft in progress in the 600 block of Lumpkin Street.

Officers were advised that two male subjects had taken what appeared to be copper from one house and had concealed it in another house.

     Officers made contact with Johnny Henson, 24, at a house in the 600 block of Lumpkin Street, and Henson matched the description of one of the suspects in the theft.

During a search of the residence, officers found Curtis Allen, 24, hiding in a bathroom.  

Officers also found wire cutters and several coils of insulated wire. Based on the evidence at the scene,Allen and Henson were arrested for Theft of Material-Aluminum/Bronze/Copper and transported to the Bi-State Justice Center.

The bond for each subject was set at $10,000.
