It was the space jump that had millions watching, but possibly the best footage of the jump wasn't available during Felix Baumgartner's live YouTube event.

Video recorded from Baumgartner's chest camera was released online yesterday and it shows the perils and triumphs of the 24-mile high jump.

The camera, which provides Baumgartner's point of view was mounted to the chest of his space suit.

Over the course of the video viewers get to experience much of what the daredevil experienced during the more than four minute free-fall that reached speeds of more than 800 miles per hour.

According to YouTube, Baumgartner's jump was their largest livestreamed event ever.

More than 8 million people tuning in to watch.
