Wonderland of Lights Rebuilt

The Wonderland of Lights is undergoing a transformation. This year the City of Marshall is builing or buying its own set pieces, rather than renting as they have in years past. The move should enhance the Wonderland experience, and save the city a substantial amount of money.
In previous years the city would rent tents and lights from third party suppliers. Ed Michel with the Convention and Visitors Bureau says last years rentals cost the city $200,000. Constructing new, permanent structures will set the city back $90,000, an investment it expects will pay for itself quickly.
Vendors will be pleased with the sturdy, insulated stalls, and festival goers will be impressed by the upscale atmosphere they will help create. The Wonderland of Lights begins November 21, and runs through December 31.
