Dog park supporters respond to veto override

There were smiles all around from dog park supporters as every single member of Shreveport City Council voted to override Mayor Cedric Glover's veto to receiving funds from the Red River Waterway Commission.
The group has agreed to pay $280,000 into the project.
"It feels wonderful. It was something that was needed 6 years ago. It's great to see this finally here," said Cynthia Keith, director of the Shreveport Dog Park Alliance.
By law, Glover needs to sign off on the project. There is no word on how long that could take. Members of Council said they hope he would honor their decision.
The Mayor took to Twitter after the Council's override vote, tweeting:
"The seven existing #dogparks across #Louisiana had an average cost of $50K to $70K. #Shreveport's is proposed to cost $280K+. #WontHappen "
