By: Nancy Cook
Updated: October 9, 2012

The effort to wipe out blight in city neighborhoods will continue Wednesday tomorrow when Shreveport's Department of Property Standards conducts the third in a series of sweeps across Shreveport.

This sweep will target Councilman Jeff Everson's district and will begin at 8 a.m. at 2600 Desoto.

The format for this sweep will mirror the two previous sweeps with the added addition of inmates from the Shreveport City Jail participating in the cleanup.

Citizens are invited to take old tires and other debris to this site for disposal. Those who cannot transport trash to the site may call 673-6204 between 8 a.m. and noon for assistance.

The pickup is only during the sweep hours for October 10th.

The boundaries for the area are:

  • Northern - Kings Highway
  • Southern -- Hollywood Avenue
  • Eastern - Mansfield Road
  • Western - Hearne Avenue
