The NBC 6 Spirit Stick has a new owner this week. Evangel Christian Academy officially accepted the title of our week four winner.
They may not have the biggest student body, but they're just as proud.
"We just try to be louder, make bigger signs, more pom-poms, everything we try to do bigger and better," said Hannah Bryant, Evangel Cheerleader.
Students at this local private school believe they can compete with the best of 'em - on and off the field.
"We're definitely going to win this week," said Bradley Ashlock, Student Council President.
This week the Evangel Eagle cheerleaders showed us why they're school was worthy of the NBC 6 spirit stick. Next week it's up for grab again so you'll have to show us your school spirit.
Ashlock is a shining example of a high school student. Student Council President, wrestling team captain and active in community service, this senior knows what it takes to win --- teamwork.
"There's a tight group of people who've been here since first grade - since little kids. As we come up, you get more people come in. It's a tight family. No matter if you've been here one year or 12 years," said Ashlock.
Bryant is a cheerleader, and agrees that supporting your classmates is the best legacy to leave lower classmen.
"Stay as a family and keep on supporting each other," said Bryant.
This week the Eagles take on Booker T. Washington, and this student section plans to cheer their way to a victory.
"I'd say get ready because here we come," said Bryant.
So, does your school have what it takes to claim our NBC 6 Spirit Stick for week five? All you have to do is show up at your football game tonight and go crazy when you see our cameras.
