A Shreveport man is in fair condition Saturday night after suffering from a single gunshot wound. The shooter is still on the run.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, 27-year-old Ronnie Coleman, of Lamar St. in Shreveport, was shot in the head just before 4 p.m. Saturday.

The shooting happened at the Willow Trace Apartments complex on the 8100 block of Pines Road in Shreveport. Investigators said Coleman was shot in the breezeway between two apartments.

Police believe Coleman was visiting a female aquaintanence when a dispute broke out between him and another male inside the unit. The preliminary investigation indicates that one or both men produced guns and multiple shots were fired.

"We do have witnesses detained at this time and we're trying to apprehend a suspect," said Cpl. Marcus Hines.

Police are still working to identify the shooter. They did recover a small caliber firearm and several shell casings at the scene.

Coleman was transported to LSU Health Shreveport by the Shreveport Fire Department.

No other injuries have been reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at (318) 673-6955.
