Texarkana, Texas will soon have a new place to have fun in the water.

The Rotary Clubs of Texarkana's Splash Pad is expected to open in coming weeks, while weather is still warm.

"We're making great progress," said co-chairperson Andi Darby on Friday.

Donations have poured in from local people and businesses for the project, which will be maintained by the city.

The splash pad is projected to open in the next two or three weeks.

After that, it could open as many as nine months out of the year, depending on the weather.
